Professors Sharon Mansur and Ronit Eisenbach awared $20,000 Research Seed Grant
The University of Maryland ADVANCE Program for Inclusive Excellence recently announced the third cohort of ADVANCE Interdisciplinary and Engaged Research Seed Grant 2013 Awardees. The list includes Assistant Professor Sharon Mansur, School of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies, as co-Principal Investigator with Associate Professor Ronit Eisenbach, UM School of Architecture, Planning, & Preservation.
The seed grants ($20,000) are intended to support preliminary or exploratory projects that will contribute to future external grant applications, while providing women faculty with a vehicle by which they can establish partnerships for scholarly work. The research project of Professors Mansur and Eichenbach is titled: “In situ: Exploring Sites In Transition Via Performance and Installation Interventions”.
University of Maryland, College Park, in partnership with the National Science Foundation (NSF), has made an historic commitment to the professional growth of women faculty in all academic disciplines. Through this partnership, which involves a major contribution of in-kind funding from the University, the ADVANCE Program aims to improve rates of retention and advancement of women faculty by fostering changes in institutional culture.
