Congratulations to Dance MFA candidates Colette Krogol and Matt Reeves for being invited to fill the following recent and upcoming residencies!
-- From January 9-11, 2015 Matt and Colette were in residency at the University of Florida's School of Theatre and Dance. They taught master classes to all dance BFAs and BAs, and they ran 6-hour choreographic rehearsals where set re-set a work, "Detained", from their company Orange Grove Dance's repertory on the BFA Dance Seniors. The students will perform this piece at the University of Florida this spring.
-- Colette was selected for the 2015 Emerging Creatives Student Summit Conference from January 28-31 at VCU in Richmond, VA.
-- Matt and Colette have been selected for two Artist in Residence programs for this upcoming summer 2015. Their proposed project, "The Trinity Space Project: Experiencing Space Differently," was selected through a competitive application process where artists from around the world could apply with their community collaborative proposal. They will continue our artistic mission this summer, creating art with and for the communities in which they immerse themselves. The residencies are 33 Officina Creativa Artist Residency in Toffia, Italy, which they were invited to for the month of June, and CeRCCa, Centre de Recerca i Creació Casamarlès in Llorenc de Penedes, Spain, which we were invited to for the month of July.
Matt and Colette's goal has been and continues to be using their summers during graduate school to continue to foster their teaching artist work with communities abroad and to bring to these residencies all the new knowledge and outlooks they are gaining through our studies at UMD.
TDPS is proud of to have such bright and talented students!
