October 21, 2014 School of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies

Dance faculty member Adriane Fang will present her work in the Dance Gallery Festival showcase at Sam Houston University and Alvin Ailey Citigroup Theater, NYC.

Adriane Fang will present her work, Stupid is a Bad Word, at Sam Houston University and Alvin Ailey Theatre, as well as teach masterclasses at SHU.

The Dance Gallery Festival is a curated event with numerous submissions from groups that range nationally and internationally. From 250 entries, 23 artists were selected by a panel of experts in the dance field for the various programs and Adriane was among the 11 selected for the UP close program, an evening of intimate works.  The mission of Dance Gallery Festival is to find up-and-coming choreographic talent at the national level.  This is the 8th reincarnation, having grown over the years to include presenting at two venues:  Ailey Citigroup Theater and Sam Houston University.  Adriane has been selected to perform at both festivals as well as teach masterclasses at SHU.
