Experience the Arts Together at The Clarice

The performing arts at Maryland announce their Fall 2021 season.

A play spoofing slasher flicks, a performance of contemporary music using ancient Korean instruments and vocals, and a program featuring Aaron Copland’s “Appalachian Spring” by the University of Maryland Symphony Orchestra are among the highlights of the Fall 2021 season happening at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center announced today by the performing arts at Maryland.
Audiences can physically attend or virtually enjoy over 50 events that highlight student, faculty and professional work encompassing music, theater, dance and more. The performances aim to celebrate stories of joy, offer global perspectives, elevate marginalized and silenced voices, and showcase creativity and innovation.
The Clarice is also introducing a “pay what you wish” pricing structure this year to increase access to the arts.
The 2021-22 season marks the official launch of Arts for All, an initiative announced in April by university President Darryll J. Pines. Representing a renewed commitment to the transformative role that the arts can play in the lives of students across campus and others in the greater UMD community, this program leverages the combined power of the arts, technology and social justice to address the grand challenges of our time.
